Policy Challenge
In the 2020 edition of the Challenge, the policies formulated by the winning and the runners-up teams were submitted to Hon. Cabinet Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Letter of Recommendation from him commended the “scientific nature of EJCON x Ka-Ching’s inquiry into pertinent areas, thorough analysis and well-rounded conclusions.”
Public Policy deals with the interventions, and processes of those interventions made by a government for an efficient and equitable working of society.
In the process of policymaking it is made evident how the application of, for example, an economist's study of an 'optimal' policy fits the structure of the law it operates in and the sociopolitical realities that the policy must be implemented in. It is that multidisciplinary nature of 'policy' that the National Policy Challenge, the showstopper of Ka-Ching X EJCon, intends to bring to its participants.
The event is designed in a way to not only give you a research- oriented platform to showcase your skills, but to ensure you learn about policies and the processes involved in the research behind them while you compete. Each round is designed to walk you through essential steps that every policymaker must take to analyze a policy, this time in the context of determining their relevance in a world increasingly focused on sustainability. The dynamic and holistic nature of our rounds attempts to mirror the real world challenges that policymakers face.
Our judges, throughout the editions, have been experienced members of academia and the policy-making arena. Their personalized feedback works to sharpen the participants’ skills and experience in academia and policy.
